Legoland hits Hampton Court Flower Show

On Monday 5 July Legoland Windsor’s landscape team will be making history by becoming the first theme park to exhibit at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. The show garden features almost 185,000 standard LEGO bricks and takes its inspiration from the park’s latest attraction, Pirates Landing which opened earlier this year.

Unlike many other exhibitors at the show, Legoland Windsor’s Pirates Landing Garden has been produced exclusively by an in-house team and is the result of a creative collaboration between the Landscape and Models & Animations departments.

The garden has been designed with families and young children firmly in mind. Visitors will see that a pirate ship has unexpectedly landed in the Johnson family’s garden whilst children are playing. Mischievous LEGO pirates can be spotted emerging from the undergrowth, searching for precious treasure and colourful LEGO brick models can be seen at every turn. LEGO flowers, plants, birds, butterflies and dragonflies are hidden within the planting and a contemporary curved white wall, multicoloured planters and a 3D sculpture have been used to illustrate the versatility of LEGO bricks. The plants, in hues of green, have been chosen for their foliage, texture and colour whilst other key plants create highlights and give a theatrical feel to the garden.

Visitors to the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show can find the Legoland Pirates Landing Garden at Stand GW5.
