And the winner is …

Piers and I have put our heads together and after much deliberation we have chosen Mother at Large and Browny as joint winners. That means they will each receive £50 :) Congratulations!

Mother at Large wrote a very helpful comment on Pentlands Hills Regional Park:

The Flotterstone Inn on the A702 is a good place to start a gentle walk in the hills, with good public parking nearby. Well-marked and properly-maintained paths give youngsters the chance to enjoy the countryside. We’ve enjoyed taking our daughter here at different times of the year, so she can see the changing seasons. Walking up from Flotterstone to the Glencorse Reservoir and back, with daughter on her father’s back, is a good, easy walk, lasting an hour and a half, with several picnic tables to stop at for a breather or some tea from the thermos. A drink at the Flotterstone Inn is something to look forwards to at the end of the walk. The inn is child-friendly, with a large garden. The A702 is a busy road. Many cars choose to ignore the speed restrictions!

and Browny did an informative review ofSpringwood Heath Primary School:

The first school in Liverpool purpose-built to accommodate mainstream and disabled children. Springwood Heath primary is the result of a merger between Springwood primary and Harold Magnay special school in Woolton. The school was officially opened just last week (June 2007) and is stunning.

The classrooms are double the size of the old ones and have toilets in each classroom. There is a physiotherapy suite and even a pool. The outside play facilities are marvellous, there are two separate playgrounds for the nursery and junior children. There is even an enclosed outside football area too! The staff are lovely and the children all love their new school!

I will be contacting you directly to arrange for you to be sent your winnings.

There were 41 entries in total, and I would like to give a special mention to the following runners-up:

Chell‘s comment on this Wacky Warehouse

Littlesheep‘s comment on the National Sea Life Centre

Blush‘s comment on the Blue Reef Aquarium

Well done everyone and many thanks for taking part.

  1. Wow, Vicky! That’s terrific news. Thanks to you and Piers for choosing me. I didn’t even realise there was a prize until a few weeks ago. I’ve just enjoyed having somewhere to share all my ideas and opinions on various places. Always happy to rant, that’s me.

I think I might spend my winnings on a day out with the family somewhere nice that features on Little Legends. Will let you know more, if you’re interested, once we’ve got ourselves organised.

That sounds like a great idea about something for the sidebar, to run entries on LL on blogs. I am absolutely useless at the technical side of this, so I’ll ask my husband to help me out with downloading the necessary code.

    Thanks again for the prize.

Would love to know how things go! Hope it’s fun!
